What you type stays on your device
The appliance list, hours, season, outage length and any custom unit you enter are used by a script running in your browser. The page contains no code that sends them to us or anyone else.
What your browser keeps
When the calculator runs, it saves your latest plan in your browser's local storage under the name thbp_plan, so the outage plan page can show it. The same plan is encoded in the "print my plan" link after the # sign, a part of the address your browser does not send to our server. Anyone you give that link to can read the appliance list inside it. To remove the saved plan, clear this site's data in your browser settings.
What the host sees
Cloudflare delivers the pages. Like any host, it processes the IP address, browser type, page requested and time of each request so the site loads and abuse is blocked. We set no cookies of our own, use no analytics and load no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds. If we ever add analytics or partner tracking, this page will say so before it starts.
Mail sent to [email protected] goes to our team. We use your address and message only to reply or to check a number you flagged.
Links to other sites
The sources page links to manufacturers, utilities and government documents. Their policies apply once you click through. We are applying to the Amazon Associates program.
